Experiences for everyone
Hotel Royal is known for its impressive interior design, featuring leaded-glass windows, hundreds of works of art, glass chandeliers, and antique furniture. Quite simply, it’s a hotel experience unlike any other.
In the period leading up to the change of ownership at Hotel Royal in 1983, the old hotel had been virtually stripped of its furnishings and works of art. Among other things, some of the treasures were, unfortunately, sold at auction. However, there are still a few exceptions in the form of individual pieces of furniture and paintings, which are carefully preserved. Since then, the decor and art collection have been steadily and carefully built up under the current ownership.
Today, Boutique Hotel Royal can thus present an art collection comprising several hundred works of art. In addition, there are the many artistic murals that renowned Danish and international artists have created and installed directly on the walls of both the hotel and the casino. On the other hand, this artistic fresh start has provided opportunities for many artists across various genres—particularly contemporary artists, whose works adorn the hotel throughout, both in the guest rooms and in the common areas.
The beautiful ceiling murals found in select rooms and other common areas invite guests to tilt their heads back and feel as if they’ve been transported to Florentine museums and the settings of castles and manor houses. The distinctive and atmospheric aesthetic is an experience in itself and comes highly recommended.
